Clinics

We offer a range of clinics for our patients these include:

Minor Illness  Every day our Specialist Nurse, Sue Dorman, can see patients for minor illness complaints.  These are available to book on the day.  Please be aware that the receptionist may ask you what the complaint is to make sure it is appropriate for you to see her.

Maternity Care  First antenatal appointments (booking in) are seen on a Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm.  Subsequent follow-up appointments are seen on Tuesday afternoons after 1pm.  This clinic is run by the community Midwives.

Child Immunisation Clinic  Routine child immunisation appointments are organised by the Health Authority for 2, 3 and 4 months and 1 and 4 years of age.  When you child is due an immunisation you will receive a card through the post.  The clinic is held on Friday mornings between 9 am and 10:30 am by one of our Practice Nurses.

Child Health (Baby) Clinic  This is an informal clinic run by the Health Visitors.  It is an opportunity to have your baby weighed, discuss any problems you may have and also to collect your baby milk powder if you are entitled to it. 

Child Health Screening  These developmental screening take place at regular intervals in a child's pre-school years.  The Health Visitor sees children at every interval and one of the Doctors sees children at 6 weeks old.  Appointments are arranged by a Health Visitor who will make contact when a child is at screening age.

Minor Surgery  Minor Surgical procedures and operations are carried out on Monday afternoons at 2pm by two of our Doctors.  If you need to have a minor operation your Doctor will advise you. 

Podiatry  Our resident Podiatrist visits weekly on Wednesday afternoons.  She only sees high risk and diabetic patients.  To access chiropody services you need to contact the Podiatry Department at Loughborough Hospital on 01509 564321
