Our team is led by Mrs Nicola Evans. Should you experience any problems with your contact with the surgery these can be dealt with by Mrs Evans. She can be contacted by letter or telephone.

Reception

We have a total of four receptionists. These ladies are your first point of contact with the surgery, either at the desk or on the telephone. They have a difficult job to do especially at busy times so your patience is welcome. The receptionists deal with all queries first hand so please be prepared to give a few details. These ladies have been fully trained to ask particular questions which will greatly assist us in allocating who it is you need to see. If it is advice you require it may be easier to get through on the telephone after 10.00 am

Community Midwives

The community midwives run all our antenatal clinics and visit patients at home as necessary. Clinics run on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Community Nurses

The Community Nursing Team specialise in taking care of house bound patients. They receive referrals from local
hospitals and doctors. They are based at Barrow Health Centre and can be contacted on 01509 410276

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a qualified nurse who has taken further training to obtain the Health Visitor Qualification. They are notified of all births and offer help and advice to parents. They can be contacted by calling 01509 410244.

Counsellors

Your GP may refer you to our Practice Therapist. Therapists are qualified mental health professionals who work in GP
surgeries. They provide talking treatments for people who may be suffering from emotional or psychological difficulties. This may be especially helpful when problems are of a sensitive nature or are painful.. Your GP will advise you how to make an appointment if he/she thinks it is appropriate.
