Medical Receptionist Vacancy
Part Time Position (30 hours per week)
Alpine House Surgery has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our very friendly and hardworking team.
Previous experience in a similar customer services role with the ability to demonstrate excellent telephone and interpersonal skills is desirable but not essential. Candidates will be friendly, polite and compassionate whilst understanding the strict guidelines of confidentiality.
The ability to work well under pressure in a fast changing environment is essential, as well as an excellent eye for detail and the ability to follow protocols closely.
Knowledge of working with SystmOne computer system would be an advantage but not essential as full training is provided.
Hours of Work
Mondays 7.45am – 12.45pm and 1.45pm – 6.45pm
Tuesdays 7.45am – 12.45pm
Thursdays 1.45pm – 6.45pm
Fridays 7.45am – 12.45pm and 1.45pm – 6.45pm

The community midwives run all our antenatal clinics and visit patients at home as necessary. Clinics run on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Due to our building extension works, our midwife is currently seeing our patients OFF-SITE at Charnwood Medical Centre on Linkfield Road in order to avoid access and parking difficulties. This is a temporary measure and hope to be fully operational again by the beginning of MAY 2016.
The Community Nursing Team specialise in taking care of house bound patients. They receive referrals from local hospitals and doctors. They are based at Charnwood Mill in Barrow and can be contacted on 0300 300 7777
A health visitor is a qualified nurse who has taken further training to obtain the Health Visitor Qualification. They are notified of all births and offer help and advice to parents. They can be contacted by calling 01509 410244.
Your GP may refer you to our Practice Therapist. Therapists are qualified mental health professionals who work in GP surgeries. They provide talking treatments for people who may be suffering from emotional or psychological difficulties. This may be especially helpful when problems are of a sensitive nature or are distressing you. Your GP will advise you how to make an appointment if he/she thinks it is appropriate.
